Intelligent Provisioning for Microsoft Windows 64-bit Operating Systems provides a way for the users to flash or update the Intelligent Provisioning media to the embedded NAND without a need to power cycle the server. Traditionally users had to mount the Intelligent Provisioning recovery media and power cycle the server, and boot into this DVD media to flash the Intelligent Provisioning bits. Instead, users can now directly install/update Intelligent Provisioning through this windows installer in the online mode. This is the initial release of the product for Gen8. Reboot Requirement: Reboot is not required after installation for updates to take effect and hardware stability to be maintained. Installation:
- Download the Smart Component (cpxxxxxx.exe) file to a local directory on the server where you want to install the software.
- Change to the directory.
- Run the .exe file by double-clicking it. A dialog box will display.
- Click the ‘Install’ button to flash the Intelligent Provisioning.
Please note the following: Intelligent Provisioning Windows smart component will flash the Intelligent Provisioning firmware by extracting the component to the temp location. After flash, the extracted contents will be deleted. There will be no entry in the ARP (Add/Remove Programs), Start Menu, or Program Files.
